Gartner Prediction:
Gartner Says Worldwide Platform as a Service Revenue Is on Pace to Reach $1.2 Billion
Worldwide platform as a service (PaaS)  market will experience consistent growth with worldwide PaaS revenue totaling 1.5 billion in 2013, and growing to $2.9 billion in 2016achieving a 26.6% CAGR.



PaaS spending globally is relatively small, almost entirely generated by the U.S.42 percent of the market, followed by Western Europe and Mature Asia/Pacific.  All mature economies combined, account for almost 90 percent of worldwide PaaS spending. 

SAP Prediction:

Industry-specific PaaS offerings will continue to emerge in 2013. We've already witnessed pockets of these, such as the NYSE trading community platform, Panoptix from Johnson Controls, and BaseSpace platform from Illumina. It is interesting to note that these offerings are built by industry-specific players rather than IT vendors. It is expected that the “generic” (horizontal) PaaS market will become commoditized

Forrestor Prediction:

Charlie Dai (Principle Consultant) reports a strong growth in this market from 2013 on, to more than $600 million in 2020.

Cordys is mentioned as one of the two major global PaaS players offering a Foundational PaaS, Application PaaS, Process PaaS and Integration PaaS for the Chinese market.

 Research and Markets - PaaS users from 3% in the year 2012 is set to grow to 43% in the year 2015
